A little interaction with walker and family. Whilst slowly passing the four walkers (walking four abreast) I overheard the mother say, I wished they would use their bells we can’t hear them coming. So I kindly stopped and said that the bell was used (and demonstrated kindly). Unfortunately it is very windy and the sound of the bell may have not been heard because of the gust of wind in the open space. (Her husband is a cyclist and he uses is bell. The poor man just stood there and said nothing) The response then was they didn’t realise it was a shared pathway as there are no signs (lol, we are on the NCR 5 between the railway bridge and the bridge over the river by Forge Mill). I pointed out that it’s a national cycle route and the signs are on the posts along the way and on the maps available from the farm shop (still not a peep from the husband who is now standing back cowling away lol) Wished them Merry Christmas and carried on our way..
