Emonda. Cloudy, damp & cold - 37 at the start, down to 33 out by Woodlawn, very windy from the West @ 14 mph, gusts up to 17 mph. Dressed ok but the fingers and toes were cold a lot of the time. Very hard ride, slow out into the wind but pretty much flew back to Kaneville. Didn't see another soul out riding today (not surprised). I averaged 13.0 mph on the way out (26 miles in 2:00:00), Averaged 21.7 mph on the return (26.4 miles in 1:12:55) Wore Assos tights, Jockey long sleeve Merino base layer, Rapha coat, merino base gloves with PI shells and mid weight ear covers. base socks with upper toe warmer and Minus 33 wool socks, JFW road boots. With the winds today, should have worn wool base socks and a heavier outer glove or additional layer on the inside.
