Last night I had worked out a route for today - San Bruno Mtn. Loop plus head to Mademoiselle Colette on the way back to get some chaussons aux pommes.
Well, as usual, this morning I was faffing about and even thought about doing a couple other routes instead. I'm just not psyched to do road rides, especially by myself.
In the end, I got myself out the door and I should've had time to do the full route as planned. That is until I got halfway down Sawyer Camp Trail to find the gate closed at Jepson Laurel. I guess the trail north of it is still flooded. So I had to back track.
I thought about not going up to San Bruno and grabbing lunch at In-N-Out or Popeye's but decided to stick to the plan. Climbing Guadalupe Canyon Pkwy, I thought about skipping going to the top of San Bruno Mtn. and just going over the saddle but I figured I was all the way here, might as well do it. If I didn't have time, I could always go to Mademoiselle Colette tomorrow.
Had lunch at Subway in Brisbane. The table was in the shade so I got a little cold because I was sweaty. When I got going again I was worried I was just going to be chilly for the rest of the ride but luckily I warmed up and finally found the right temperature for the rest of the ride.
It was also clear after lunch that I wasn't going to be able to make it to Mademoiselle Colette before it closed. It worked out I guess because my legs were also starting to get toasty. They were tired enough that I just went straight up Ralston, even though I don't like the traffic, just because it's more direct and less steep than the side streets.
*** After today's ride, I'm 0.5 mi. shy of 5,000 mi. for the year. D'OH!

Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
