This should become a legendary climb of the Tour de France, with the new car-free cyclist's playground built above the Méribel Ski resort. With 9 separate ramp-like hills that all hit or pass 20% incline and are all deep in the thin air zone at or over 2000m.The climb starts out as a typical ski resort climb built for coaches with wide roads and fairly even grades that never really cause any serious difficulties. The fun and games start after you leave the Méribel ski resort after about 15km . Then you enter the brand new car restricted tarmac cycling road, purposely built as a challenge to the world's cyclists. It's about as close as it possibly gets to a rollercoaster with constant twists and incredibly steep sections, both up and down. Get yourself ready for this! With the steep grades that come so late into what would normally be already quite a hard ride, it's advised to use the difficulty slider to gain a lower gear set.
