I found Bay Area Bike Tag #384 at the SkyTerrace observation deck at SFO Terminal 2. As the game is played, I took a photo of my bike there and rode to a new location for a photo to post of the next tag for others to guess. https://www.reddit.com/r/BAbike/comments/xd0jvw/bike_tag_385_iconic/
To play you have to guess the location from the photo. OK, this location is pretty obvious, and intended to be. Usually I'd say on my RwGPS post, "since you've seen my route, you're disqualified from playing this round" of the game. That wouldn't be fair this time. Though the photo in the dark adds back some challenge to figure out the exact spot. If it lasts a few days I'll post hints including that. But I don't expect it to last a day.
For me this tag is significant in 2 ways. It's my 25th Bay Area Bike Tag. And with this one in Marin County, I'm the first player to place bike tags in all 9 Bay Area counties. So "tagged all counties" is a milestone in the game others can try now too. So the title "Iconic" wasn't only about the bridge.
I started with plans further north for this tag. But I had to scale them back after a late start was made worse by delays from BART train cancellations. And getting around at SFO Airport also took longer than expected. I knew I was going to run out of daylight and formulated a new plan while I was riding - the tag had to be in Marin County. Oh, and there were more delays where the Bay Trail was congested with crowds entering AT&T Park for a baseball game.
But I made it safely. This ride included my 2nd and 3rd times bicycling across the Golden Gate Bridge. (The first time was for Bike Tag 314 on April 6.) On this ride I took BART from Milpitas to SFO to get started. To get back home I took BART from Embarcadero to Milpitas.
