This ride starts from the Oregon Trail Interp Center. The first 9.5 miles is a good warm up. This section covers Clackamas River Drive to the Carver boat ramp and then goes right onto Hattan Rd. There is a little climbing on Hattan, but nothing too steep. The 9.5 mile mark is at Fisher's Mill Rd and this is where the figure-8 begins. Go left on Fisher's Mill. There is a short hill right off the bat, then a 1.5 mile steady, low-grade climb before a long descent to the Fisher's Mill and Ridge Rd intersection. Go left to stay on Fisher's Mill and after 0.4 miles, go right at Mattoon Rd. This is a series of short rollers that comes out at Redland Rd (mile 18). Go right on Redland Rd and then a quick left at Fellows Rd. This is the tough portion of the ride.
Fellows Rd is a 3.5 mile segment, with a 0.7 mile steep climb at the beginning. The max grade is 13%. After the climb, the next 1.5 miles is reasonably flat, but more climbing vs. flat or downhill. There is another short, steep climb, followed by a mile of mostly downhill to the Lower Highland Rd junction. Go right on Lower Highland Rd for more long rollers. At mile 23.2 is Ridge Rd. Turn right. This is a 6.8 mile stretch with a long descent at the start, then more rollers. Ridge Rd comes out at Fisher's Mill bridge and completes the first loop of the figure 8. Continue on Fisher's Mill Rd, passing Mattoon Rd and enduring a steep 0.6 mle climb to Springwater Rd. Make a right at Springwater, then a quick left onto Eaden Rd. This road is a nice, easy 4.1 mile spin with a steep downhill early. At mile 34.3 is the turn for Baker's Ferry Rd. Turn left and continue 3 miles to the Springwater bridge. Be careful here, especially turning left. Go left onto Clackamas River Drive for a 5.4 mile easy spin into Oregon City.
