I had planned to sell this bike when I got the Stumpjumper at the beginning of this year but I've been happy I kept it. It's become my, more fun, and more capable, gravel bike. Thank you trail angels for clearing the thistle. Last time I skipped doing Comb Over because that's where the worst of it was and the trails leading up to it still seemed bad last time so I didn't want to risk. Although the dead thistle still looked kind of bad, I decided to go for it and was pleasantly surprised that it was cleared. There's one section of Comb Over near the beginning that's always sketched me out because it's bumpy and the trail in general is narrow, smooth, and not much margin for error. Well in the past year, it's also gotten a rut down the middle of it making the narrow trail even more narrow. The run up to it is also a little awkward with a tree that kind of crowds you on one side and you're already trying to be mindful of the rut before you go over the edge. At the bottom is also a tree that crowds you and more bumpiness as a rut from off to the side merges with the center rut. I stopped at the top and tried a few times to go. I almost walked down it but I decided to go back passed the tree to get a better run at it. The first attempt I stopped and that's when I thought I really didn't have it in me to do it today. But I went back and gave it one more try... and made it down, what is a pretty short section, without any problems. Happy I did it.
