Horseback ride: To get to the trailhead, starting at the Kamas FoodTown grocery, go east. Turn right at the light (7-11) towards Francis. Turn left at the flashing red light towards Woodland. As the road goes down to the flats, stay left on Lower River Road. Go 0.7 miles. Turn right at the Wolf Creek sign (this is right after the cafe). This is Bench Creek Road. Go 3 miles on a dirt/barely paved road. Park on the right just after the cattle guard. We packed in to Camp Hollow, stayed overnight, and returned on Bench Creek. Where you see the extra loop at the top, this is an awesome old aspen forest, magical. The trail is generally nice footing, with some rocky areas. Some dead fall and some very rocky/steep sections . The rest of the climb/descent is steady but not particularly extreme. There was good water along the trail.
