I’ve been wanting to come back and finish the loop we were supposed to do the last time. I also added some MTB specific trails that weren’t on the original route - Manzanita & Resolution.
The descents are so flowy and fun but none of the trails are just down. They were all more of a bowl with an uphill that looked like it would’ve been a flowy descent going the other way.
I cleaned most of Manzanita and Resolution but had to walk some sections. Maybe next time? It should all be doable. I’m slightly surprised at how unfazed I was to go through all the rock gardens but the Stumpy made it feel easy.
The climbs felt interminable. 🥵
The light on the back half of the ride was so beautiful. Being in the forest with dappled light is my happy place.
I accidentally squished a giant banana slug on Giant Salamander. 😢 At first i thought I had some poop in my tread. 😬
On the way back, getting on to El Corte de Madera Creek Trail, it was looking dark. I was a little worried I wouldn’t make it back in time but I did.
I had a hiker say, “Sick bike!” Thank you! My Stumpjumper IS sick! I love this bike. It feels so light and nimble and fast. It just rolls over everything.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
