Are there ample campsites along this route? We dog pack (bring pup on bike packing trips) and prefer shorter days around 40-50 mi

I dispersed camped in a WMA which is technically not allowed on that side of the Flint River. On the other side of the river in Sprewell Bluff WMA West there are some fantastic campsites near the river that are legal and free dispersed camping. Also Big Lazer WMA just south on the river's west side has great dispersed camping by a large pond.

Other than those spots, the only other camping spot would be at Joe Kurz WMA in Meriwether county, off Mount Carmel road.

Some of these properties require a hunting or fishing permit, or a lands pass to use. Here's a handy interactive map that shows all the state properties:
