Counterclockwise circle tour of Cozumel island. I stopped by the few places to check the beach. There are many solitude places that you can enjoy by yourself. Just avoid all those beach bars as they are crowded and expensive. Whole island's business is oriented on ripping off tourist that come of the cruise ships. Even they tell you to come back after 17.00 when ships are leaving the port as everything is much cheaper then. Very wrong!
I turned off the main road to visit village of El Cedral, after about 1km you hit the road block with the guy who is asking for $3 to continue to the village on the public road? Pure road robbery!
I didn't want to accept this kind of behaviour so I just turned around and left.
The other coast of the island is facing open sea so water is rough and beaches are stony but still beautiful. Stones are very sharp so you must be extra careful not to get hurt.
It gets very hot in the afternoon and there is no shade so better try to do this tour in the morning.
