Local Area Trail Ride 1-24-23

Checkpoint. Supposed to be a sunny day and I got to enjoy it for all of 20 minutes, then it turned back into our usual high clouds for the rest of the ride. It was cold but comfortable, in the mid 30's and while there was a SW wind, I didn't feel it for most of the ride which was protected.

Still a beautiful ride and I saw several other riders out there, which has been unusual of late. Trails were mostly clear except for the bridges, which had standing snow and ice. Nice route through plenty of neighborhoods in addition to the Fox River Trail. As usual, even with the effort, speed was pretty slow with all the gear.

But.... It's always a gift to be able to ride outside in January in Chicago!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
