This was an absolutely great cycle as I really used the Hammerhead to my potential . I had recorded the ride from the map the day before and then i took that ride exactly in the confidence that i was going exactly where I wanted to go . It would have been so much better if i had kept to the ride i planned but , me, of course did not do that and at Duleek i decided to go my own way to Drogheda . Fatal. I had not a clue where I was going so then i decided to finish the ride there and then and just to use the un-planned ride to Drogheda as I could find the town OK, which worked out . All in all i cycled 72KM that day which was satisfactory . But it was cold and wet , not exactly raining but... the afternoon was all right but still a bit cold . I went through Summerhill which I had visited before but cycling from home and then i was going to go home directly but I then decided to go on the pre - planned route which was to Drogheda.
