Ten Loiterers followed me out of Uxbridge through Denham to Denham Aerodrome and elevenses in the Crew Room. Snow still covered the aerodrome and we watched a pilot clearing snow from the wings of his plane. John Macmillan joined us here before we headed off along Tilehouse Lane, down to the A412, and on up Chalfont Lane. Turning up Roberts Lane we continued through Horn Hill, on to Chalfont St Giles and on to Seer Green and lunch at The Three Horseshoes.
The Three Horseshoes has a bright modern interior and a large patio style garden which the manager opened for us to park the bikes. The food was very good and reasonably priced and it was an enjoyable loiter.
After lunch we made our way down Bottom and Longbottom Lanes to Beaconsfield. On the way Margaret left us to head off to towards Wooburn Common, John W and Stuart to reconnoitre a new route, and Alan off to find mud and water to play in with his new fat bike. we then continued on up Ship Hill and Park Lane to Burnham Beeches which we entered by Halse Drive and made our way to Egypt. It was then along Templewood Lane, Duffield Lane, Bunby Road to Stoke Poges where John Mac left us for home. The remainder of the group made for tea at Black Park via Hollybush Hill, Chapel Lane, and Rowley Lane which had ‘Road Closed’ signs up apparently because of water across the road.
After tea we headed off towards Uxbridge with the group dispersing along the way.
