Phoenix Bikes Ride (23-05)

Today, I was supposed to lead a ride to Jones Point, which is beneath the Woodrow Wilson Bridge that carries the beltway across the Potomac River. It was going to be very, very windy day though, with gusts up to 21 mph at times. Only two kids showed (two bailed), and with Greg, my other adult co-leader we struck out. Unfortunately, less then a mile out, one of the kids wasn't paying attention and had a minor accident with a pedestrian and Greg took him back to the shop to repair the bike. After some discussion and the two of us remaining had a good but abbreviated ride, deciding to stop at &pizza in Potomac Yards, saving the day. We had a tail wind outbound but a strong head wind coming back.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
