Tough ride today and, frankly, too tough for me. The route was to be 53(?) miles up a long climb, over the Continental Divide. Over 4000 feet of elevation gain. The ride was going to be hard enough but the 20+ mph headwinds, gusts up to 30, and windchill in the upper 20s defeated me. In fact, only 5 of our 11 remaining riders finished. They battled rain/snow/sleet after I surrendered. They are troopers!
