Follows the Civil War Auto Route

I'm assuming that most of this route is shared road...how safe would it be for a solo rider? Looking at potential bike routes for next year when I visit PA.

This is the signed National Battlefield auto route And most drivers under
the posted limit ... 25 mph? ... and will look out for bicyclists and
pedestrians. Busier on weekends and holidays. Park Rangers availability
makes it safer than many alternatives.

The Gettysburg Battlefield is very biker friendly. The cars are moving slowly and they are aware of many bikers on the road.

Always ... and you too ... when I biked this route last year the
possibilities were endless.

This is generally true. I was shocked to read and see photos of armed
motor Cyclists people coming to Gettysburg this summer armed with assault
weapons apparently in response to posting on the internet that protesters
would be burning our American flags ... total b.s. and not the first time.
Lots of people have opinions but this is Gettysburg National Park, site of
the defining battle between the North and South and our national Park
Service allows armed protesters to intrude on American families learning
about our national heritage? What? And just so you know I’m a veteran ...
