AGM Long Ride
Well a few dared to join this adventure. Leaving Uxbridge at just gone 10.00 am and heading towards the Denham roundabout and turning off onto Hollybush lane. The anticipation of a full fledged debate was spurring us on, or was the the thought of free tea and biscuits? On reaching the A40 we crossed and turned into Broken Gate lane, now resurfaced with firmish but flat dirt, soon to be gravel. At the end of the lane a left turn onto the off road section which was firm and mainly dry. On reaching the road again a leisurely saunter lead us to Higher Denham Community Association hall. where we were greeted by the anticipated free tea and biccy's. after various "oh I left that at home by various committee members and frantic trips by car to retrieve said secret documents the meeting started and finished very quickly! chairs and tables packed away and photo competition entries handed in, dodgy dealings I suspect, no winner was announced?
So off to lunch, some of us cycled, well we are a cycling club! and some went by car to the Falcon Inn at Denham. Food and drinks ordered and much jovial conversation partaken. Food eaten, coffee ordered. More drinks ordered, by some. The jovial conversation continued to the point I announced that the pub as now also the official afternoon tea stop so tea and cake ordered. By 4.00pm most had left apart from the serious drinkers on their forth or fifth pint of Cider plus a few who stayed to hold him up. Great AGM and really nice long leisurely lunch with some great company. Really put the seal of approval on the club name!
