Out and back ride on an interesting part of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT), starting and finishing at Harlin. Ride includes the only tunnel on the BVRT which was a bit of fun. Having never ridden the BVRT before I was surprised by the steep climb a short distance out of Harlin (having thought the whole trail was no more than 3%, and this was well more than that) but the rest of the ride was true to what I expected: long gentle ascents and descents, and plenty of relatively flat riding. Lovely open countryside, some bush areas. Great surface throughout. Cattle grids instead of gates throughout were appreciated. Lots of lunch options at Toogoolawah and Esk - Grand Hotel at Esk was the choice for the day...and it was a good choice!
