It was Eli's turn to show me some new trails today.
Originally I had suggested doing Skeggs but after yesterday's ride I didn't feel like doing so much climbing. Turns out, I was pretty fatigued today - mentally and physically and even though today was pretty, I wasn't really up for it.
It rained a little overnight. The trails were probably already wet and muddy, which I didn't realize they'd be so bad, so the extra precipitation didn't help. I wasn't in the right space for mud either.
There were quite a few fallen trees and eventually there was a fallen tree too big to get around and we turned around and called it a day unable to complete the loop. Honestly I was pretty gassed by then and not looking forward to anymore climbing.
The first trail we started on was really nice. Wider than the stuff in San Juan Canyon and not as exposed. The stuff on the second part was rockier and looser. In general, the trails seemed a little less packed down since I'm guessing fewer people ride these trails.
After Death Valley, I feel like I'm much better and handling loose conditions.
I am looking forward to going back to finish the loop when I'm not so tired and the trails aren't so muddy so I can really enjoy them.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
