This short scenic loop starts at visitor center in Troutdale goes over Troutdale bridge taking a right on old Columbia River highway and going over Stark Street to return to downtown Troutdale via Troutdale Road and Sandy Street bike route cutoff (a local bike route which avoids traffic and has great views) There is one major hill, and the route can be busy during commute hours and weekends. But it has rare views of small waterfalls, historic highway architecture and river views worth the ride. (Check out the photos) I would recommend this for experienced and comfortable with car traffic level of bike riders going in a clockwise direction, which has more space on the shoulder. At the end of the ride cruise over to downtown for coffee and snacks or down to Sugar-pine for ice cream. Peace.
