Started out with TJ, Pete, Judy, Jeff, Anthony, and Kevin. I started off pulling for the group, but Pete had been having a lot of knee pain the last few weeks and wanted to start out a little easier, so he dropped off the back. When I realized it, I dropped back to ride with him and the others went on ahead. We picked up Anthony along the way, and, as I understand it from TJ, we reached the lunch stop just a few minutes after the rest of the group; once there, we learned that Jeff had broken his rear derailleur cable, and he and Judy were going to a local bike shop to get it repaired. I don't know what happened to Kevin, but Anthony told Pete that we should go on ahead without him. Pete and I continued to ride together, while TJ evidently teamed up with the tandem team of Lori and George, and tore up the course, finishing with daylight left to burn! LOL. Pete and I came upon the crew from the first rest stop, Margaret, Dee and David Slaton (sans Rob Kelly), on the way up from Ventura to Ojai, and we rode along with them and chatted for a while until they stopped to make some wardrobe changes. We were leaving that stop, where Tony and Ellen were volunteering, and Tony took a picture of us. We surprisingly came upon them again and rode together from Ventura to Port Hueneme. After that, Pete and I picked up the pace and finished in a very respectable time.
There were headwinds at the start of the ride, but they didn't bother me and it was basically a perfect day for me. Those same winds made for a fast return to Malibu! I still felt strong at the finish, and had felt little wear and tear from this double in spite of the reasonable pace. Maybe this was due to having ridden more regularly lately, even though this has just been short (20 mile) mid-week rides.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
