This was a road bike trip through Arches starting at the La Sal Mountain Overlook. Starting at the overlook avoids the steep serpentine road at the entrance which has little to no shoulder and more traffic. There is not much of a shoulder through the rest of the park but the traffic was not heavy and the visibility is good with lower speed limits. It is hard to beat the views, Bring plenty of water and snacks as there is no visitor center in the heart of the park. I started early to avoid the heat and the crowds. Currently, if you enter the park before 7:00 AM you do not need reservations. I don't think you need reservations if you ride your bike from the entrance, but then you will be fighting traffic up the steep serpentine section at the beginning.
