Rode from TJ's with Pete, and TJ, of course. Out to Encanto, down the SGRT, along the beach boardwalk from Seal Beach to Long Beach, and back on the LART and Rio Hondo trail to El Monte, then Longden, etc., to return to Pasadena on the streets. (This was my first time on TJ's "new" route to Encanto, diverting from New York Dr up to Midwick Dr.)
There were several locations which were flooded, and we had to detour in at least two spots, particularly on the SGRT underpass of the I-10 (mile 25.8) when we had to take the river bank through the dirt and mud; and from the Whittier Narrows Reservoir dam to San Gabriel Blvd (mile 80.1) when we had to climb over an embankment to take Lincoln Ave. Surprisingly, to me, anyway, the path across the flood control basin near Arcadia City Golf Course was not flooded. TJ and Pete were very good sports about the detours off the pavement!
We had head or cross-winds all day, making the ride a bit more of a challenge (I'm guessing it cost about 2mph on average), and I was pretty well "cooked" by the time we finished in spite of the cool temperatures and flat miles.
If I was to map this for a "normalized" route, I would stick to New York Dr (between miles 3.2-4.7), and on the return to the Rose Bowl area, at mile 99.9 I would stay on Arroyo Blvd. past the Aquatic Center, then around the east side of the Rose Bowl (Seco and Rosemont), then take Rose Bowl Dr back up to Arroyo Bvld. (at mile 102.0).

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
