Beautiful loop with every type of surface possible covered. Gravel, Jeep roads, double track, single track, rowdy track, twisty track, smooth tarmac, stream bed crossings, you name it. Awesome views on the Blue Ridge Prky, beautiful forests, quintessential Americana farms, and friendly southern hospitality. Getting water was an adventure so be prepared. I got water from a small store, a friendly group of cyclist, streams and a Church camp ground. I highly recommend a portable water filter as I used mine several times. Had one issue with my rear derailleur at around mile 115 that forced me to walk the bike up hill for a little bit as I tried to remember how to disable crash mode (Damn you Shimano). I didn’t crash, my bike fell over but after cursing the world I eventually remembered and fixed it. Saw lots of wild life, farm animals, and an adorable juvenile raccoon. Overall a fantastic ride that I highly recommend and will be talking about when I’m 90, haha. Thank you roa-stoked.com for creating this gem.
