162 agonizing days of waiting for the new Sherman to arrive, 162 days pestering Christine with "I wonder when my Sherman will arrive" (and later, "I wonder IF my Sherman will arrive")! It finally arrived after being held at Customs since May 11th. Ugh. It's a tank - which is fitting, since it's named after one. 79.2 lbs, but it's super stable at any speed. Not quite as torquey or agile is my smaller Tesla, but there's always plenty more speed and power and the battery level barely moves. It takes a lot more effort to turn, but it gets around the corner eventually ;-). This will be the perfect long-distance cruiser, great on rough roads and trails. After almost 50km I only used about 24% of the battery; I should be able to get nearly 200km on a charge, depending on terrain, speed, wind etc. I think I'm going to like this wheel! My top speed of 53km/h felt plenty quick, but daredevil riders (25 years younger than I) have gotten over 80km/h out of it. I'm happy to stick around another 35 years or so by keeping my speed reasonable.
