50k skate. 10th Birkie finish. 1019th place. Really no racing today, but happy to finish without a huge bonk as I have poor fitness and missed the opportunity to switch to the Wednesday open track event. Went out at the back of wave 2 and took it easy as much as possible. Skis felt fast for about the first 15k, then I noticed having to really push myself over easy terrain for a while. They felt a bit better on downhills later in the race (Toko performance blue hot wax, then high performance blue with x-cold hot wax, skipped the liquid paraffin.) High single digits at the start, high 20s at the finish. Slow and fairly soft snow. Has been very cold and most of the 6-12 inches of snow Monday-Tuesday pushed off the course.
