30 mile gravel ride entirely within Hickman County with the Gravel Grinders of TN through copious creek crossings and only 30% pavement. There are paved creek crossings on Barren Fork and Old Hadley School road, but the real fun starts about mile 21 where Tom Patton road goes through Tatum Creek - which is where we usually take a break to wade in the creek. Up Cavender Road there are numerous rideable unpaved creek crossings over flat stone, which can be slippery. Then we got rolled (smoke) by a diesel truck heading down Brown Hollow road to Tatum Creek for the rest of our primitive, and smaller, creek crossings. Dodged a violent thunderstorm to our south and enjoyed some cold beverages at Buford McCord Park - which has a restroom and covered picnic shelter - when we finished.
