First ride over 40 miles this calendar year (SMH) and smartly started early in the day. It was pretty warm by the time we stopped, but mostly it was quite humid. Very pleased with the effort to get up to Frederick County and moving on a day when you would rightly expect to laze about in the morning. Route hit a lot of the old familiar roads and spots, with a never-before-attempted wrinkle, the climb up Mason-Dixon Road from Marsh Creek at about halfway. Chosen deliberately for the workout annd ... it was fine. Gotta keep working on those slow-twitch muscles ... All in all enjoyable, even with a companion. Getting better at riding my own pace and not feeling bad about it (and be willing to draft without guilt when companion prefers to go faster on flats than preferred).
