Mohonk Mntn Preserve (Carriage Roads)

Starting/Ending at Mohonk Preserve West Trapps Trailhead parking, this ride meanders to Mohonk Mountain House via the Undercliff, Laurel Ledge, & Copes Lookout carriage roads. The return trip follows the same path more or less. We abandoned a planned side trip to Sky Top Tower via the Old Minnewaska carriage road due the long, steep grade (and our tired legs) and it uses the Overcliff carriage road instead of the Undercliff carriage road we started the trip on.

It also explores the Trapps Trail carriage road to a point just past Lyons Rd. before returning to the parking lot (due to rain—we'd intended to go to Lake Minnewaska & Awosting Falls before turning back).

We'll be back some other time for sure and will hopefully complete the portions we'd hoped with fresh legs and a sunnier day.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
