Route 66, Elwood to Oklahoma - Day 6, St. Louis to St. Clair

Sometimes there is adversity. I was feeling pretty proud of myself for overcoming not one, not two, but three flat tires on today's ride. The first one, I fixed; the second one was right by the Swim Bike Run shop in Chesterfield, so those fine folks fixed it; and I fixed the third one, with the spare tube I had bought at Swim Bike Run. Then, seven miles from my destination - a FOURTH flat tire. That was too much for me; I called for my support van. Ride over for today. I'm not impressed with the cleanliness of road shoulders in Missouri. I've got a brand-new, beefy rear tire now, and a few more new tubes, and I'll try again tomorrow.

    Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
