Exploring Bonelli by Road Bike

On my way back from Joshua Tree, I stopped and rode my single speed around Bonelli Park to look for a good route to include in my Snow to Surf 200k route.

I went to a dirt path on the southwest corner of the lake and it was pretty mucky clay where mountain bikers had made some significant ruts in the path. I walked around a couple of sections.

$10 to enter by car, but free on the bike, and free after 4:30pm by car, but it closes at 7, and the police (Sheriffs?) were chasing people out by 6:20 or so. Still, there would be time to have a quick picnic and watch the sunset across the lake. That's what I did with my left-over half of a sub sandwich. LOL.

  • TCX Course

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
