Unfortunately, for the most part, today's commute wasn't anything terribly exciting. The ride in went really well and it was fast. I was pushing myself at certain spots. Made good runs down Sandy Ridge, north along Pecos, and north along Tomiyasu. Nothing too crazy, just stronger efforts than I'd usually do for a commute. Made it to work really quick, but was certainly tired. Got to have a nice 30-40 minute break to chill out, relax, and unwind before starting the day. Walking out of the office I could smell the moisture in the air. I looked south and the skies looked gray, but I chalked it up to the Mojave wildfire smoke. Riding through campus I was happy that the winds weren't crazy. The morning news made it sound like the windows would be much much worse. Riding south along McLeod just south of Russell I got a good view of south Henderson and it certainly was looking like rain. The rain didn't really start until I started up Coronado Center. Even then the rain was light enough that it would evaporate almost instantly after hitting me. The rain remained constant until I turned onto Anthem Parkway from Reunion. At that point the rain started coming down a little harder and it didn't take long before I was soaked. My only complaint is that it didn't break the heat nearly as much as I would have liked. Overall, today was a great day of riding. Now I get to relax for the rest of the night before another wonderful day in Paradise tomorrow.
