2023-08-27 Kayak around Ash Island

We'd archived 9 caches on Ash Island a few years ago due to usage changes on the island. The containers remained, so this trip's objectives were to collect some of those containers, and to get out & get a casual paddle with little upper body exercise, naturally!
As it worked out, the smoke & humidity was just enough that it didn't take much to tire me out. I made two attempts at one cache and one attempt at a second, but there's just too much late season growth & hardening of the vines that it became to much work.
As it was on Sunday, the boat traffic was a bit thick too.
I was able to collect one container at the tail of the island; that leaves 8 for future trips!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
