It's been a while, but I was able to manage the (SS,R) today. The wind was unpredictable. Temperature, perfect. Shorts and short sleeves. My right knee was sore from the beginning. I was wondering if it was going to subside. After about 15 minutes of riding, the soreness went away. At that point I was committed to do the (R) ride, minimum. I made it to the summit of Banducci in good time. It was at that point that I had to decide where to go. The wind was going towards the West, meaning a headwind on the way back. Given that it was quite a while the last time I was able to get out to SS. So, I decided to go for it. When I reached Pelisser, I noticed the wind had reversed. I got lucky. The wind was moderate. I kept the tempo nice and steady to SS. Then the usual push around the back and to the exit. The wind continued to prevail from the West, so I had a generous tailwind on the way back. Such was the case till I reached the last climb of the day. Up until this point, I was doing good time. I knew all my gains were going to evaporate, so no need to go for a good time. After reaching the summit of CVR, I breathed a sigh of relief and headed home. The remainder was mostly cruise control. Concentration was real good. Ailments, right knee soreness for the first 15 mins, minor lower back soreness. Balance and form felt good. Gear is working well, but the Gopro securing bolt came off some time before the end of OTR. Other notes, I saw 1 other cyclist.
