Gran Fondo Maryland

Brutal weather. To paraphrase Forrest Gump: It started raining at the start, and it didn't stop for 90 of the 97 miles. We went through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain...and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Not to mention the fog and mist.
Still, I did pretty well finishing 28 out of 44 riders in my age group thanks in large part to Ilya from Latvia via Baltimore. We partnered up for most of the ride. He helped me, and he said I helped him. It's always nice to make a new friend. I LOVE road cycling.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
