Warm, sunny, and wind free walk up Hwy 101 to Eagle Creek. At the Eagle Creek delta, I say a sea or sea lion slip into the Canal from a small semi submerged hummock. I also saw a pretty good sized fish swim out of the creek. As I was leaving I met a guy who complimented me in the GD Terrapin band in my hat, which led to a short music chat. Up Eagle Creek Rd. after the track passes a logging gate, the grade is a bit over 12% for .6 mi, steeper in places. Only one spot had any kind of views, but it’s a great hike. The forest looks to be less than 40 years old, they have been thinning it in much of the area. I saw four piles of bear scat, ranging in age from quite recent and not rain degraded, to a good but older. They all were full of berry seeds and what looked like cherry pits. I got a couple of blisters so when I was asked twice if I wanted a ride back from the former Eagle Creek Tavern, I took it.
