This ride was the annual EugeneGears club Blackberry Bramble. It was originally slated for August, but was postponed due to smoke. Opted to do the century course minus the Fern Ridge - Veneta loop. The first 20 miles was on the Lorane Highway and Territorial Highway. First rest stop was at the Lorane Grange. The next 17 miles traveled along Siuslaw River Road to the Wolf Creek Road junction. There were two fairly lengthy climbs over the last five miles to Wolf Creek. More climbing on Wolf Creek Road. A 2.5 mile stretch at 6-8% grade to a false summit. A little more climbing followed by a 2 mile descent. A long, gradual climb began at Panther Creek and continued to MP 2, followed a long downhill to Territorial Highway near Crow. A series of rollers awaited just before the Crow rest stop (mile 52). After a good lunch break, another climb awaited on Central Road. This climb was about 0.5 miles at 8-10%. The remaining 17 miles covered Petzold Rd, Erickson Rd, Pine Grove Rd, Crow Rd and Greenhill Rd. The final 10 miles was on the Fern Ridge bike path.
