Anger Management homework completed (9 out of ten and a silver house star) and the secret project still on the back burner so time to write up Pete's ride to Croxley. We started off with 13 but lost Jim in about 400 yards as he suffered what now must be his thirtieth puncture of the year (stop buying your tyres from Poundland Jim). Quite a long trek to the first stop (new) at the Waterside Cafe in Croxley Park (not a Lawrie type park but a Stockley Park type park). While we all drank coffee, Brian and Steve T fixed Sally's slow puncture which had first manifested itself near Northwood Hills but luckily had held out following some pumping by Steve T. From there we continued north, near enough to Leavesden before heading back down to our lunch stop, another new stop the Fox and Hounds back in Croxley. Prices were good and the pub was o.k. BUT it took forever and a day to have our meals served, with both Ninja Steve and Jean having to send their meals back as they had not been cooked through. Leaving the pub, we headed back for a stop at the Falcon where we discovered Denham Village's best kept secret. It's not on the menu but the Falcon serves delicious Danish Pastries which are served hot - a real treat to end the day.
A great day out with Peter, new areas (for most of us) two new stops and a secret revealed - all done with no GPS, maps or notes.
