2023-10-06 Hike - McDonald-West Side

Nice weather demanded a day off work... High 70s in early October? With plans in hand, caches and a route loaded on the 66st, I started at the bridge entrance. This was a 99.9% natural hike; I encounted one hiker with a dog and a fella peddling up a steep road on his mountain bike; he was in 1st on that rear dinner-plate sized rear gear. I'm not sure who exerted more energy up those hills - him or me... probably me!
I made a mistake while dropping down one of the steep descents on a bike track; I missed my turn-off and realized my mistake 15 minutes later... it was a haul back up that ascent! Those mountain bikers are CRAZY!
