Found this loop on the website of one of the best shops in town, Kaptein Two-Wheelers (https://kapteintweewielers.nl/route-jisp/). I had heard that Amsterdam was a beautiful country, and that is all true. I’m blown away with all the bike paths. You are able to ride anywhere in this country by bike. The bike infrastructure here is second to none. There are no hills, but you will ride against the wind and earn your post ride coffee!

Route description as found here: https://kapteintweewielers.nl/route-jisp/
This route heads north from Kaptein. As always, the ferry behind Central Station is a convenient meeting point.
You take the Buiksloterweg ferry directly to the other side. Then you follow the route along the North Holland Canal. Be careful, because at the first small bridge you cross, you immediately turn left. Here is a beautiful narrow path that meanders between the meadows. Driving two by two is not recommended because it is really narrow.
The route continues for a while through Landsmeer after which you drive into the Twiske. This is also a beautiful path with lots of greenery. After Twiske we drive onto the Zuiderweg. After passing the golf courses on the left, the road continues under the A7. On the right is the training complex of football club AZ.
You cross the road towards a beautiful dike. On the left you can see the Zaanse Schans from a distance. The road meanders a little further, after which there is a small bridge on the right. You cross this and a narrow gravel path follows. At the end, turn right onto Oosteinde. A long straight road consisting of cobblestones then leads you towards Jisp. A beautiful old village with beautiful houses, boat rental and an old church.
You continue towards Purmerend. A short distance through the city, but the route continues smoothly. From Purmerend there is another narrow cycle path along a dike. On the Purmerdijk you take the bridge on the right towards Overleek. You've already come a long way, but are you craving something sweet? Delicious cakes are available at theetuin Overleek .
After this the road continues towards Broek in Waterland. A very beautiful village with many wooden houses. Just take a look around because it is very beautiful! The last part of the route goes along the Broekervaart. It's funny that the people who live in the houseboats across the street can only get home with their own ferry. Eventually you will end up along the North Holland Canal again, which will lead you back to the ferry. I always think this is one of the most beautiful rounds in our area. Have fun!!
