Rode to the cafe (Henry's Kitchen in East Molesey) with Silvi. Phoebe was working a shift there. S had a snack, I had a coffee. Then set the Garmin for a brief afternoon ride to Ripley and back. nearly ran over a Jack Russell south of West Byfleet on a road marked "No through road" for roadworks. The owner was just walking through a gate on a footpath and had let his dog run across the road in front of him without checking the traffic (probably assuming there would be none due to the roadworks), it was right in front of me and I had to react within two yards to avoid running over the middle of its back. Somehow I managed to just miss the dog, and yelled a "Whao!". On looking back, I saw the owner didn't even bother to look at me - he seemed completely unconcerned that his dog was nearly killed. Legs feeling a bit weak, but kept up a reasonable pace - OK no hills this ride.
