Something got into my guts in Albuquerque and made them very unhappy.
Could barely navigate my way out of town, heading into 50mi of desert with no camping options, relentless upset guts, dehydration, symptoms just getting worse, backtracked about 5 mi the wrong way in the shoulder to get to the only toilet/bed available at insanely overpriced hotel for 3 days, to nurse myself back to health. I might have died or something trying to force my luck. my body felt thoroughly poisoned. symptoms got wayyyyy worse before getting better, 72 hrs and hundreds of dollars later. hotel seemed like they had good food but i couldn't eat it. just ate $7 Campbells soup and pueblo bread from the truck stop in the complex, with lots of gatorade and of course had zero interest in gambling. patched a few punctures (fool's errand), watched some movies but mostly ran back and forth between bed and toilet.
