Well, after waking up early every morning since Wednesday and the Big Basin ride yesterday, I wasn't sure if I was going to make to today's ride. Somehow I made it and when I turned on my Garmin, it couldn’t have been more perfect, telling me my daily suggested workout should be a test day. 🤣 I was more sleepy than I was fatigued today. The forecast was for warm weather and I expected it to be a lot like yesterday only it was both warmer and colder. The cold at the bottom of West Alpine was expected but it was even colder on Pescadero Creek. We gutted it out and didn't put our layers back on and instead just went faster. On the way to Pescadero, we had a flyby with Anthony, Carissa, and her friends. In Pescadero, I ran into Saralita and on the way up Tunitas, we bumped into Noah. So many frens today! Leaving Pescadero, it actually felt hot which rarely seems to be the case and the tiredness was kicking in. By the time we got back to Foothill, my legs were starting to feel tired, something that hasn't happened at the end of a ride in a long time. I took the Thesis today because it turns out, the brakes on my Aethos need more than just a bleed. It might be a warranty replacement issue. After the bleed, the brake lever is fading into the bars after initially biting. I had a ton of fun descending W. Alpine and Kings. No cars! YEAH! I was expecting it to be warmer as I descended Kings but instead it was freezing. According to the weather, it should've been pretty warm still. We all had to put our layers back on.
