Laurel Bloomery-Chestnut Mountain-Whitetop-VA Creeper Gravel/Paved

The route starts off with 6 miles of rollers and pretty steep, pitchy road/gravel (Sugar creek to Branch Rd.). Watch out for dogs at the left hand turn onto Branch Rd!

After popping into Taylor’s Valley you’ll connect up with the Chestnut Mountain-Whitetop dirt loop. Prepare to climb — Chestnut Mtn is no joke—mostly on gravel to . At the end, you pop out near Green Cove where VA Creeper picks up. Nice and gradual all the way to Whitetop.

Have a snack and prepare for the beautiful and fast downhill/roller, paved/gravel fest down!

Continue on the Creeper trail and enjoy tge Gorgeous streamside views. Take a left at Hwy 91. It’s a highway, but totally ride-able all the way back to Laurel Bloomery. There you’ll take a left onto Gentry Creek Rd for the 1 or so mike ride back to vehicle.

Starts with a hilly paved road for 6 miles over to Taylor’s Creek. Turn right to pick up the white top gravel loop that ends at Hwy 91. It’s a two lane highway but totally rideable and along the river for about 5 miles back to Laurel Bloomery. Left on Gentry Creek Rd back to the cabin!
