Rolling Pin Donuts and Melissas Taqueria with a side of San Bruno Mtn.
I've been wanting to go back to Melissas Taqueria ever since Bob discovered it the last time we did San Bruno Mtn. Their burritos are delicious, and we've tried a lot of places. Their chips last time were also delicious and better than most but today they were a little stale unfortunately. Still, I would recommend this place.
The last two times we headed through San Bruno, we passed within a couple blocks of Rolling Pin Donuts and never went so I wanted to make sure we visited them this time. Also because last time, I was hungry just before the start of San Bruno Mtn. and I didn't want that to happen again.
Plenty of detours due to flooding and plenty of puddles too. The first half of the ride, I was dressed perfectly. After lunch, it got cloudier and it was chillier but eventually it warmed up again.
At the start of the ride, Sonny lead us up the Ralston climb. I think I almost always lead it. On the sidewalk/bike path there's a gap/crack in the pavement pretty much in the middle of it and I always avoid it. Sonny managed to ride into and nearly crashed trying to get out of it when his wheels were fully stuck in the groove. I stopped in time. I turned around in time to see Bob nearly crash in to me, even though he'd been further behind. I guess he wasn't paying attention and then freaked out a bit a nearly went in to the road.
Sonny ended up wrenching his handlebars out of alignment. He tried to straighten them (without loosening the bolts) and the sound when he did that seemed wrong. We eventually stopped and he straightened his bars the right way (and he didn't die the rest of the ride after gouging grooves in to his carbon steerer tube when he manhandled the bars :) ).
