Geneva-Aurora-Sugar Grove Trail Ride 1-31-24

Seven. Cloudy, cold - mid-30's with wind chill in the high 20's, SW winds @ 10-12 mph. After seeing the winds in the mid teens out West, decided to drop the planned road ride and go for a wind protected trail ride instead. I did a wing it ride with no planned route.

Most of the FRT and Virgil Gilman trail were clearwith some shady exceptions. A lot of the bridges were still snow & ice covered and required dismounting to ride across, the worst were out in Prestbury so I jumped over to the road back to the FRT. A few walkers out but no other riders.

Good ride, dressed well so no cold issues. Dropped by Global Brew for some rehydration after.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
