Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I just noticed that your rides haven't been showing up on Strava this year. What's up with that? The last ride I see was Christmas day.
Yea, I've gotten kinda bored with Strava. I started to just drop it but, I've got some friends who only post on Strava so, I keep it going. RwGPS is much more low key. Not quite as much in your face and I like that.
I've always liked RwGPS best, except for the fact that they don't distinguish virtual rides from real ones. It's by far the best for creating routes, though. It's the only one I pay for. Actually, I like Garmin Connect as much as any of them. When I first started riding, I had a friend who was using Strava and I was using RwGPS. I agreed to sign up for Strava if he'd sign up for RwGPS.
RwGPS is the best all around cycling app, in my option. I love the maintenance Log!! I keep track of everything I do to my bikes. Strava has too much Bravado for me any more. I don't give a ----....hoot about segments, and them constantly telling me I should friend people I don't even know, just because a friend of mine is friends with them. Yea, I like the Garmin site as well. (Although, I quite using it when I got my Wahoo computer. Since it wouldn't accept uploads directly from the Wahoo.) I Like that it gives you the option of watts/kg as opposed to just plain watts. I'm not very interested in watts anymore but, I like to think I still have a little umpf left in my tank. I'm just glad to be able to get on my bike(s) and get out in the sunshine and fresh air and ride!!
option should have been opinion.
I like the maintenance log, too.
I hadn't noticed that Garmin Connect lets you choose watts/kg, I'll have to check that out. I like the fact that it lets you choose more than one piece of gear for an activity, like a bike and a trainer. I also like the fact that it recognizes virtual rides and their own activity. As I mentioned before, that's the one thing I don't like about RwGPS. Really, the best thing (or worst, depending on how you see it) Strava has going for it is having so many users.
I've never been competitive with cycling, other than with myself. On BigRingVR, I usually put other riders on the route with me, not to compete with, but to motivate me. Of course, I guess it's my competitive nature that provides the motivation...
