Kings Mountain - West Alpine

This was a beautiful ride in the blazing heat -- 100+ degrees -- until West Alpine! Omigawd did I suffer. Baked top and bottom, slogging through every steep foot. My times weren't too bad by comparison but I felt like I was dragging a cadaver. Almost ran out of water. West Alpine is a looming tormenter in my cycling life. I might do it again next weekend just to prove it can't beat me. I'm supposed to do it in two weeks on the Devils Slide Century.

The new blue shoes are the stiffest shoes I've ever worn. Tough ride to break em in, and by the end I was chafing a bit. But they are super light and super cool!

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
