Awesome first ride of season from 9QC to Alices in Carp and back. Met up with ETA crowd there (About 12 in all). Were planning to arrive at 12:30, but it was moved to 11:30 due to unexpected hot day for may (remember we had snow only 2 weeks ago!). Route there shortest as per gmap-pedometer, but got lost a couple of times and too many stop signs, turns, and riding on busy roads. returned by longer route on bike paths, although Hogs Back is a busy nightmare with construction in progress. Bike OK until last few km when rear shifter started acting up (turned out the cable had snapped in the shifter). Also managed to lose brand new $50 rear light! legs quite tired. had coffee and date square at Alices and ice cream in Britannia on way back.
